Physically located within Casa Thomas Jefferson (Brazil-United States Binational Center) in Brasília - Thomas Maker is an educational maker consulting department. We develop projects in the editorial, teacher training and academic consulting areas. Operating since 2015, we have established ourselves as an innovative hub, recognized for our commitment to quality, diversity, and the enhancement of good educational practices.
To achieve our goals, we rely on experienced resident teachers who are tasked with bringing pedagogical excellence to the internal and social programs of Casa Thomas Jefferson. Enriching the team, a multidisciplinary maker team (specialized in areas such as design, library science, computer science, architecture), with great ease and fluency in the universe and philosophy of learning by doing, brings agility and fun to our ethos.
Using all the knowledge acquired, not only about Maker Education but also as education professionals committed to excellence, we design projects and initiatives to share best practices, always keeping an eye on facilitating innovative and meaningful processes.
For the "Aperte o PLAY" project, we make use of Thinking Routines in the hope of creating opportunities to make the learning process more visible for all the school community. We invite teachers and students to create environments that can "speak". Places where, even without any formal presentation, a visitor can understand the theme and what the students were thinking at a given moment in the project.
